Allied Insurance launches 'Green for Good' initiative

Allied Insurance, on Saturday, launched its Green for Good initiative at Angsana Ihuru Resort and Spa.

Green for Good was inaugurated during the resort's 10 to 10 dive event by Allied's Managing Director Shafaz Mohamed, along with Treetop Group's Sustainability Director and Coordinating Director of Banyan Tree Global Foundation Dr Steve Newman.

The initiative aims to ensure that corporate offices are environment-friendly spaces by encouraging reductions in the usage of paper and electricity as well as increasing utilization of environment-friendly bags and bottles.

Managing Director Shafaz stated that Allied Insurance intended to carry out Green for Good on a wide scale in the future. He revealed that numerous activities were planned with the aim of protecting the environment including marine life.

Allied Insurance has already made several contributions with corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including sponsoring the “Sandy Mission” in Malahini Kuda Bandos, making donations to facilitate the digitalization of schools, and launching a community development hub programme in Maalhos, Baa Atoll in partnership with Ooredoo Maldives and United Nations Development Fund (UNDP).
