Bank of Maldives (BML) gifted environmentally friendly bags to the residents of Alif Dhaalu Dhangethi.

This is the third project under the banks 'Aharenge Bank' Community Fund initiative to empower individuals to contribute to society by conducting sustainable community projects.

BML gifted the bags to every house, institutions and guesthouses in celebration of the kickstarting the event in Dhangethi.

As part of this project, Zero Wastemv conducted an information session for students of Dhangethi school on the dangers of single-use plastic.

BML's Public Relations Manager Mohamed Saeed stated that the bank prioritises projects that are environmentally friendly.

"Our hope is that this project conducted under the BML Community Fund will be successful and this island becomes exemplary in creating environment friendly habits."

For each quarter of the year, the bank offers an amount of MVR 50,000 to fund the five most impressive proposals they receive for projects that improve community spirit, promote sustainability and provide social opportunities.
