Three ministers of the current administration will depart to China tomorrow, announced Foreign Ministry today.

According to a statement by the Ministry, the trip is by the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs in the country.

Ministers going on the trip include Foreign Minister of Maldives Moosa Zameer, Minister of Finance Dr. Mohamed Shafeeq and Minister of Construction and Infrastructure Dr. Abdul Muthhalib, who will be accompanied by senior officials of the government.

The trip will be from 20th to 24th July, during which Minister Zameer will hold official talks with his counterpart, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, and meet with the senior officials of the Chinese government.

Minister Zameer is also scheduled to hold discussions with key Chinese companies that have played a pivotal role in the economic development of the Maldives.

The trip comes following Chinese ambassador to the Maldives Wang Lixin's meeting with President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu earlier this month. During the meeting, President Muizzu and the Ambassador addressed the issues highlighted during President Dr. Muizzu's state visit to China earlier this year, and avenues to expedite implementation of agreed projects, the President's Office said.
