The Maldives Family Court has observed an expedited completion of its cases for the first three months of 2023.
According to the court, last year it took an average of 34 days to complete the cases, but this year, the average duration has been reduced to 20 days, representing a 41 percent increase in productivity.
During the first quarter of 2023, the Maldives Family Court showed the highest level of efficiency in resolving cases related to children's rights, completing them within an average of six days. Domestic abuse cases were also resolved quickly, with an average completion time of eight days.
The court also observed that the completion of divorce cases took the longest time compared to other cases due to the conflict resolution period involved, taking an average of 27 days to complete.
The court took an average of 118 days to complete child custody cases last year, but during the first quarter of 2023, the average time has been reduced to 56 days.
