Bank of Maldives (BML) has expanded its services in Kaafu atoll Maafushi, a renowned hotspot for local tourism located just 30 minutes from the capital city Male', by introducing dollar withdrawal options at their Maafushi branch for both the public and businesses operating on the island.
BML has announced that the new services available at its branch in Maafushi include depositing and withdrawing US dollars, applying for loans and financing, cheque deposits, statement issuance, and foreign currency exchange.
The bank highlighted that the ATM installed at the branch will provide 24-hour services for withdrawals, deposits, and transfers.
Moosa Nimal, BML's Director of Retail, Business, and SME Banking, said that Maafushi is a key hub hub for local tourism, noting the increasing number of visitors and the heightened demand for banking services in the region. He expressed the bank's satisfaction in providing accessible banking services to meet these evolving needs.
"It is a matter of joy for us to expand our services in Maafushi and make it easier for the community, businesses, and all those visiting the island to have access to multiple banking services," Nimal stated.
Maafushi, boasting the highest number of guesthouses in the Maldives with over 1,900 beds in 59 guesthouses, contributes the largest tax revenue from guesthouses to the state.
BML operates 38 branches, 86 self-service banking centers, 143 ATMs, and over 200 cash agents across 20 atolls, providing modern online banking solutions to the public, businesses, and communities nationwide.
