Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid, on Monday, met with several Non-Resident Ambassadors and High Commissioners accredited to Maldives from Africa.
During the virtual ceremony, Minister Shahid held discussions with the Heads of Mission of Morocco, Gambia, Republic of Guinea and Senegal as well as the Chargé d'Affaires' from Egypt and Tunisia.

The minister and the envoys exchanged information regarding the COVID-19 response, as well as the enhancing of bilateral and multilateral relationships between the countries.
Shahid emphasized on the close cultural links between the African countries, conveying appreciation for the shared values and principles among the nations, in addition to the support received as part of the COVID-19 response.
Countries represented at the meeting were also members of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The meeting was requested by the foreign minister to cultivate closer relationships and interaction between the foreign ministry and representatives accredited to Maldives.
