Police said the man taken to hospital on Wednesday has been identified as Maldivian. He had passed away after he was taken to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.
Police had asked for the help of public in identifying the man found on the road of Murangu Magu in Maafannu, near BG Garage.
He has been identified as Mohamed Ibrahim, 58, from Lhaviyani Hinnavaru. His family also lives in Male.
His funeral was held after the noon prayers.
The man was found wearing a light brown T-shirt with a blue tracksuit pants. He was around five foot six inches, police had said.
There were no visible signs of injury on the man. No further details regarding this case has been released so far.
