The promotion, called "Kick Off," was launched at Sonee Sports' PUMA store. Under the promotion, the store will offer football shoes for MVR 250, MVR 500, and MVR 750. For every transaction worth MVR 750 and above, customers will also receive a free futsal ball.
Sonee Sports said the promotion aims to encourage youth to play football, as a study conducted by the store showed a decline in the number of young people playing the sport.
"The promotion is aimed at rekindling interest in football. It will offer huge discounts on other football-related equipment," said a senior store official of Sonee Sports.
He said that football equipment will be available at affordable prices to make it easier for newcomers and returning players to enter the sport.
The biggest goal of Sonee Sports to make playing football as easy as possible for everyone, he added.
