President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's recent nine day visit to the United States for the 79th session of the UN General Assembly incurred expenses amounting to MVR 2.5 million, President’s Office said.
This disclosure is part of the office's commitment to regularly publishing details of costs associated with the President's official trips.
The total expenditure for the 9 day trip to the United States was MVR 2,455,583.01. However, food expenses for the Maldivian delegation were not covered by the State.
The trip provided opportunities for President Muizzu to engage with leaders of various nations and organizations, which the government believes will lead to important collaborations and future partnerships for Maldives.
