Six Maldivian students have ranked first globally in the A’ Level examinations in 2017.
Five of the students has scored full marks in Accounting while the other scored similarly in Business Studies.
During a ceremony held Sunday night, the students were awarded special prices from President Abdulla Yameen and Education Minister Dr. Aishath Shiham.
From the examinations held in May/June, 186 students ranked in the National Top 10, 44 of whom scored first place. Additionally, 13 students scored top marks from various subjects, nationally.
While speaking at the ceremony, the education minister highlighted the progress achieved by the education sector in the past four years. She noted and thanked the teachers, parents and schools for the hard work they had done to achieve this.
The president along with the education minister also met with three students who scored the top marks in the A’ Levels, on Sunday. These students had scored A* in all the subjects, and have been granted the presidential scholarship.
