Police rescue man being held hostage in a Male' guesthouse

Police have tonight rescued a man being held hostage in a guesthouse in Maafannu ward of Male'.

The victim is a man of Nepalese origin. Police said that they received reports on Friday that the man had been kidnapped.

The man has been held at the 'Sky Land' guesthouse in Maafannu ward for about a week, reports indicate.

The Anti Human Trafficking Department of the Police are currently running investigations at the premises.

Police revealed that so far, two Bangladeshi men have been arrested in relation to the case. Further details of the case are yet to be released.

The victim is now under police care.
