The Democrats candidate for the Majlis Elections in Thaa Thimarafushi constituency Fathimath Zilma has endorsed independent candidate Ahmed Riyaz, the brother of the sitting MP for Thimarafushi constituency Abdulla Riyaz, ahead of the highly anticipated vote.
A post shared by Ahmed Riyaz's campaign account on X revealed that Fathimath Zilma and her team had decided to endorse Ahmed Riyaz's campaign on Saturday night, quoting Zilma as having said her decision was made to allow cooperation with the government to bring further development to the Thimarafushi constituency.

Ibrahim Sanah (Santo) is contesting for the Thimarafushi constituency seat under the party-ticket of the ruling People's National Congress (PNC). However, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has given his explicit support to Ahmed Riyaz, who is running as an independent, for the Majlis Elections scheduled for next week.
