Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has ordered the removal of huts placed unlawfully in Hulhumale' Phase 2.

Last week, HDC had allocated a land to relocate the huts following orders to remove them. However, the institution was directed with strong criticism due to the arrangement of a land for small business huts that are operated without any policy nor any form of business permits.

The company released an announcement last night notifying parties to remove the huts before June 15 due to a large amount of complaints received regarding the huts placed unlawfully in the vacant space to the beach area and the Ruhgandu 3 in Hulhumale' Phase 2.

The announcement further states that if the huts are not removed during the given timeframe, HDC will initiate clearing of the area together with the hut operators.
