President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has left today to travel to United Arab Emirates to join the Maldives Investment Forum, as well as the World Governments Summit 2024.

The President is travelling to the UAE at the invitation of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of the United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai.

The President's delegation includes cabinet ministers, company leaders, and entrepreneurs.

The World Governments Summit focuses on the theme "Shaping Future Governments" this year, and will feature discussions among many influential leaders, governments, international organizations, thought leaders and private sector leaders.

The Maldives Investment Forum is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, February 13.

"Approximately 200 individuals are expected to participate in this forum," Ambassador Mohamed Hussain Shareef spoke about the organization of the event to local media who have travelled to Dubai to cover the conference.

The Ambassador emphasized that the forum has been organized to be held in Dubai owing to the close relations the two countries have in business, in a variety of industries, amongst which tourism stands out as key.

The President's Office has also announced that President Dr Muizzu will be attending the World Government Summit 2024 during this trip.

This marks the first time that a President of Maldives will attend this summit. During the previous administration, despite the country having joined two of the summits, the Vice President represented the country on both occasions.
