President of Sri Lanka Ranil Wickremesinghe and First Lady Maithree Wickremesinghe have arrived in Maldives on Thursday night to attend today's Presidential Inauguration.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe is the highest ranking State Official to attend the inauguration from among the 46 countries that will be represented.
Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid and former Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer, representing the President Elect's Office, were present at the airport to receive them.
It is believed that Zameer will be appointed as Foreign Minister in the new administration.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with the Sri Lankan President last night.
According to the President's Office, they spoke on the current economic condition of Sri Lanka, with President Ranil sharing details of economic recovery efforts the country is presently undertaking.
