A charity futsal tournament, which will observe participation from members of the National Football Team as well as senior officials of the State has been scheduled to inaugurate the Tekkers Resort Cup set to commence today.
A charity futsal tournament, which will observe participation from members of the National Football Team and senior officials of the State has been scheduled to officially inaugurate the Tekkers Resort Cup 2024 set to commence today at Crossroads Maldives.
This charity match will observe performances from former goalkeeper, Imran Mohamed, players such as Akram Abdul Ghanee, Ali Umar as well as the top goal scorer of all time, Ali Ashfaq and his brother, former defender Ahmed Ashfan.
Two teams are set to partake in this match; the team of the Ministry of Tourism and the team of the Ministry of Sports, Fitness and Recreation.
Lead by the Minister of Sports, Fitness and Recreation Ali Rafiu, the Sports Ministry's team will feature plays from Keeper Imran and Akram as well as performances from the Commissioner of Sports, Mohamed Tholal.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Ministry's team, led by Minister Faisal will see Ali Umar, forward Ashfaq and defender Ashfan competing to secure their win.
This team also includes the Minister of Finance, Dr Mohamed Shafeeq, Managing Director of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Thoyyib Mohamed, Vice President of the Table Tennis Association of Maldives (TTAM), Ibrahim Shiuree, President of Super United Sports (SUS) Ahmed Afrah as well as the President of Care Society, Ismail Adhuham.
This charity match, which is dedicated to Care Society of Maldives, a non-government organization (NGO), is slated to begin at 16:45 hrs tomorrow evening.
This year's Tekkers Resort Cup 2024 will begin tomorrow with the South Kaafu atoll round. The first match of the tournament will be begun at 1715 hrs, shortly after the charity match.
