Bank of Maldives has announced the recipients of its 'Bank Fund', aimed at empowering NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
Bank of Maldives has announced the recipients of its 'Bank Fund', aimed at empowering NGOs to contribute to their communities through sustainable projects.
This is the first year that the Bank Fund is being issued.
The selected projects from amongst the submissions are:
- Coral Farm Organization's project in Baa atoll Dharanvandhoo to protect marine species and grow corals
- Children of Maldives' project to create awareness on environment and establish a library in ViliMale'
- Dhiggaru Ekuveri Zuvaanunge Gulhun organization's project on agriculture and food safety
- Veymandoo Zuvaanunge Gulhun organizations project to establish training rooms at Thaa atoll Veymandoo School for sensory and vocational training for children with special needs
- Unity Sports Academy's project to empower youth through sports and technologyy, and set up media and sports labs in Shaviyani atoll Funadhoo School
Announcing that these five organizations as recipients of the Bank Fund this year, BML Deputy CEO and In-charge of the bank Aishath Nooradeen said that the bank fund will bring positive changes across the country.
Under the Bank Fund, BML will allocate funding of total MVR 200,000 as grants to five projects each year.
