Director-General of Transition and Chairperson of People's National Congress (PNC) stated that efforts will be made to secure a second presidential term for President-elect Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
The PNC leader took part in Thursday's conference of the serial press briefings held by the President-elect's Office.
During the press briefing, Abdul Raheem said that among the first priorities by the President-elect's Office was to assess the current health of state bodies and public corporations, which he said was in line with Dr. Muizzu's pledges.
He said that it was important to understand current conditions of state bodies and public corporations to develop governance plans under Dr. Muizzu's administration, and said that he was confident the President-elect will fulfill his promises.
While criticizing the incumbent government, Abdul Raheem said Dr. Muizzu's administration will complete his pledges for the first term.
He assured that citizens will not question unfulfilled pledges when Dr. Muizzu seeks re-election.
Abdul Raheem further said that nearly 500 people were working in the transitional committee, which has been distributed to 15 teams. The teams were gathering information from government agencies and state owned enterprises (SOEs).
Abdul Raheem further said that the government was cooperative with the transitional efforts.
