Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) introduces "ARO" Premium bottled water specifically targeting tourists.
Packed in glass bottles, the premium brand was launched during a special ceremony held at CROSSROADS Maldives. Minister of Transport Aishath Nahula launched the new MWSC product, marking the first-ever premium water brand launched in the island nation.
The glass bottles reflect authentic Maldivian designs and symbolizes the island nation's identity. The bottles come in 500 milliliter and 1 liter options.
On Monday's ceremony, November 7, MWSC Managing Director Hassan Shah spoke on the importance of sustainable business practices in Maldivian tourism sector, while adding the need for authentic local brands.
Speaking in the same regard, he further accentuated the environmental and economic prospects from a product like "ARO" Premium.
MWSC decided to opt for glass bottles to reduce plastic dependency, which falls in line with the larger environmental initiative of the government.
While the brand has been exclusively launched for tourists, Shah confirmed MWSC's plans to introduce the "ARO" brand to local consumers as well.
