Lubna appointed as Chairperson of National Drug Agency

The board of the National Drug Agency has been compiled again, with State Minister at Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology Lubna Zahir Hussain being appointed as the Chairperson.

The board of the National Drug Agency has been compiled again, with State Minister at Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology Lubna Zahir Hussain being appointed as the Chairperson.

A letter sent to the agency from the President's Office on June 13 brought changes to the 10 member board formed under the Drugs Act.

Leading the board as Chairperson is Lubna, who previously filled the same position during former President Mohamed Nasheed's administration.

The other members of the board are;

- Shibana Abdulla Didi (Deputy Under Secretary for Public Policy at the President's Office)

- Ismail Zahir (Deputy Minister at Health Ministry)

- Ismail Rasheed (Deputy Minister at Youth Ministry)

- Fathimath Azza (Director General at Education Ministry)

- Lieutenant Colonel Dr Aiminath Shumra (MNDF)

- Chief Superintendent of Police Ahmed Shakir (MPS)

- Deputy Chief Superintendent Ahmed Simah (Customs)

- Seeneez Ali (Chief Principal Immigration Officer)

- Ahmed AbduSattar (Journey NGO)

NDA is managed by a CEO appointed on the recommendations of the agency's board. The current CEO of NDA is Imad Solih.
