President Solih appoints fifth Deputy Health Minister

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Thursday appointed Safiyya Mohamed Saeed as a Deputy Minister of Health.

Prior to her appointment as the fifth deputy minister at the health ministry, Safiyya was the Assistant Director at the President’s Office.

According to the PO, she holds a Master of Arts in International Relations (Diplomacy) from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Science in (Joint) Business Studies and Japanese Studies from Cardiff University, United Kingdom.

The president had made a deputy ministerial appointment last month as well with Mariyam Khalida, the chairman of the board formed to counsel the Ministry of Economic Development on salaries and minimum wage.

The monthly remuneration of deputy ministers is MVR 35,500, comprising MVR 20,500 as salary and MVR 15,000 as allowances.
