MMPRC Deputy Managing Director Bassam dismissed

Deputy Managing Director of Maldives Marketing & Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) Bassam Adam has been dismissed.

MMPRC's Board reached the decision to dismiss him and notified him yesterday, Mihaaru News reports.

Reasons behind the dismissal is so far unclear, and MMPRC also declined from commenting on the matter.

After the earlier dismissal of MMPRC Managing Director Fathimath Thaufeeq, Bassam had been responsible for managing the company. However, a new Managing Director has since been appointed.

In addition to Bassam, Ibrahim Asim, who has served in the company for many years, was also dismissed by the Board yesterday. Asim, who earlier worked at the Ministry of Tourism, has around twenty years of experience in the tourism sector.

It was earlier reported that there had been a difference of opinion between the former MD and the company's board about the management of the company.
