The new mosque located in Nirolhu Magu in Hulhumale' Phase 2, built by Muni Homecare, has been officially opened today.
The mosque - named 'Masjid Hassan Adam' - was officially inaugurated for Friday prayers today by the Minister of Islamic Affairs Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed.
During the inauguration, Shaheem declared that this is the largest, most aesthetically pleasing mosque so far in Hulhumale' Phase 2.
The Minister extended gratitude to Muni Homecare for the large expenses they had borne in constructing a mosque of this calibre.
He highlighted the added convenience the presence of this mosque would bring to residents who live in and around the Hiyaa Flat area.
"Just by looking at this mosque, you can see it was built through high expenses. My prayer is that the property of the builders of this mosque be blessed," Shaheem said.
The two-storey mosque is built to accommodate 1500 persons to pray in congregation inside the building. For Friday prayers today, the mosque itself, as well as it's outdoor premises were filled to capacity.
