The inauguration of President Elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu is to be celebrated with fireworks tonight.
Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) stated that the fireworks show will be held at 9pm tonight in front of the Izzudheen Jetty and will last for five minutes.
The Oath taking ceremony is scheduled to be held at 4.30 pm today at the Republic Square.
While 46 countries are sending dignitaries to attend the ceremony, Muizzu's office has also made arrangements for a thousand members of the public to join the event.
The Parliament Secretariat has commissioned Maldives National Defence Force's welfare company SIWEC to complete preparations of the venue.
The President's Office has also announced that there will be a special ceremony held tonight to present Cabinet Ministers of the new administration with their letters of appointment.
