United States of America has announced that President Joseph R Biden will be sending a Presidential Delegation to attend the oath taking ceremony of President Elect Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the White House announced that the delegation will be led by The Honourable Samantha Power, Administrator of the US Agency for International Development. In addition to this, the delegation will include The Honourable Hugo Yon, US Ambassador to the Maldives and The Honourable Sarah Ladislaw, Special Assistant to the President and Senior Director for Climate and Energy, National Security Council.
China has also announced that a senior State Official will be attending the inauguration. India will be sending a cabinet minister, Shri Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Earth Sciences.
Sri Lanka will be represented by their President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Presidential Inauguration is scheduled to be held on November 17 at the Republic Square. It was previously announced that arrangements will be made to allow a thousand members of the public to attend the ceremony.
