Asian Surfing Championship: Miglal and Hoodh at the top, advance to the next round

Placing first in their respective heats, Maldivian surfers Ismail Miglal (Isse) and Hoodh Ahmed have advanced to the next round of the Asian Surfing Championship which is currently underway in Kaafu atoll Thulusdhoo.

Both Hoodh and Miglal competed in the tournament this afternoon.

In the 10th heat of the third round, Hoodh competed against surfers from Malaysia, Thailand, and Iran, securing first place with a score of 13.16 points.

Malaysian surfer Muhamad Afiq Haikal Azizi scored 10.17 points, securing second place, while Thai surfer Natri Jariyawatanawijit earned 8.20 points, placing third in the heat. Iran's Shawn Arjan Bahrololoumi scored 2.43 points, finishing in fourth place.

Miglal scored 9.17 points in his heat to secure first place, with India's Ajeesh Ali close behind in second place with 9 points. Sri Lanka's Koku Hannadige Lesitha Prabath finished third with 7.08 points, while Afghanistan's Afridum Amu scored 4.43 points, placing fourth.

With this, a total of four Maldivian surfers have advanced to the fourth round. They include the national team's captain, Agil (Ammadey), and Ismail Rasheed (Smiley), who secured their spots during the heat held this morning, along with Hoodh and Miglal.
