To ensure syllabus coverage, classes are restricted to the days specified in the academic calendar.

As the start of the new academic year approaches, certain schools are extending teaching hours, including Saturdays. Teachers in these schools are opting for additional hours beyond the official academic days.

For comprehensive syllabus coverage, students are expected to receive instruction exclusively on the days allocated in the academic year calendar.

"It is prohibited to organize teaching in any other manner. The ministry has not authorized general classes on Saturdays; no such permission has been granted," clarified the ministry.

"However, schools frequently hold make-up lessons, remedial classes, and enrichment sessions on weekends for various reasons, and this has not posed any concerns," stated the ministry.

While some parents and teachers suggest extending official school hours and introducing Saturday classes to expedite coverage of the syllabus with the fast-approaching new academic year, the ministry believes that the syllabus can be adequately covered without extending hours in this manner.
