Ministry of Environment, on Tuesday, signed an agreement with Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT), to develop training programmes within the field of water and sewerage.

According to the agreement signed by the Minister of Environment Dr Hussain Rasheed Hassan and MIT's Programme Director Adam Haleem, both parties will facilitate the development of Maldives National Qualification Framework (MNQF) level 3 and 4 courses within plumbing, sewerage system operations and maintenance, water system operations and maintenance, as well as a programme for water laboratory technicians.

The coursework and the standard for trainings will be developed in collaboration with the Environment Ministry and the Techincal and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVET).
