Police have arrested a man after from a house in Henveiru after hearing a woman being abused.
The incident took place last night.
Police raided the house and arrested a young man after hearing a woman being assaulted.
Police said that a Maldivian man who is believed to have assaulted the woman is currently in police custody and they are investigating the matter further.
The usual procedure stipulates that after being held in police custody for up to four, testimonies of both parties are to be taken. If the police see fit, to make an arrest.
No further information is available regarding the woman who was allegedly injured in the incident.
