Pres Solih appoints Dr Mohamed Solih as Addu Equatorial Hospital's CEO

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Monday, appointed Dr Mohamed Solih as the Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH)'s Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

President Solih made the decision followed the state's recent upgrade of AEH to a tertiary level hospital. The position is an appointment made at the level of a Deputy Minister.

Dr Solih holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom, in addition to the Master of Surgery (General Surgery) from Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Nepal.

With roughly 15 years in the field of healthcare management, Dr Solih also acquired a further 26 years of experience within clinical care.

He had previously served as the privately-run Medica Hospital's Chief Surgeon, Managing Director and CEO, as well as the Head of Department of Surgery, and Senior Consultant General Surgeon at Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital.

Further, he serves as the President of the Maldives Anti-doping Association and is a founder member of the Maldives Medical Association (MMA) and Maldives Orthopaedic Association (MOA).
