Department of National Registration (DNR) has announced that it has now cleared its backlog and completed all pending identity cards. Due to this, the department will now be able to issue newly applied for identity cards within a period of 24 hours.

DNR said that at the time of the change in government, 2,378 cards had been pending issuance. However, the department has now completed all these cards and handed them over to their respective owners.

The backlog was cleared by February 29. Due to this, the Department is now able to issue ID cards within 24 hours for new applicants, providing there are no issues with the submitted applications.

Applications can also be submitted online. If there are any issues in the application, applicants will be notified via the online portal and messages.
