President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday afternoon, met with members of Meedhoo Island Council in Dhaalu Atoll.
In the meeting which was held in the President's Office, the councillors voiced concerns raised by island residents.
Highlighting the most urgent needs to be given the highest priority, the councillors requested the expansion of Meedhoo harbour, relocation of the powerhouse, and allocating land for housing and other infrastructural projects.
Moreover, they presented ideas for various development projects for the overall increased benefit of the island population.
After listening to Meedhoo Council's concerns, President Solih guaranteed that discussions will be held with relevant authorities to address the council's issues and that the government will take necessary action.
The president also met with members of Alifushi Council in Raa Atoll last Monday.
Following this meeting, President Solih assured that he would attempt to re-initiate sea ambulance services at the earliest possibility, as requested by the council.
The president further announced that further large-scale industrial and infrastructural projects are currently being devised under the ongoing 'National Master Plan'.
