The release of weekly financial statistics of the country, which started in December of 2018, is suspended due to the ministry being in the process of finalising the data, the Finance Ministry has said.

While the most recent weekly statistics were published by the ministry on 20th June, Finance Ministry's Media Official said today that publishing the information was paused due the statistics being reconciled, which is done twice every year.

The statistics reports published previously also mention that the data in the reports are not reconciled.

While it has been over a month since the information has been updated, the last published statistics did not include the salaries for the month of June. However, salaries were given in June last year due to the timing of the Eid holidays, and were also included in the statistics. Due to this, the recurrent expenses of last year's June appear to be higher than that of this year's June.

According to the latests statistics by the ministry, a total of MVR 19 billion was spent from the state's budget, out of which MVR 14 billion was current cost, which is MVR one billion more than that of last year.

The state also earned a revenue of MVR 15.4 billion, which is also MVR one billion less than 2023.
