Amendment to Tobacco Act, legal age for the sale of tobacco to be raised to 21

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced plans to propose an amendment to the Tobacco Control Act, raising the legal age for the sale of tobacco and tobacco products from 18 to 21.

In a post on the social media platform X, President Muizzu stated that the amendment will be introduced in Parliament as part of efforts to discourage young people from adopting tobacco use.
