Maldives Police Service, on Thursday, revealed that a 48-year-old man died after he went diving off the northern coast of Thinadhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll.
The man was reportedly collecting bait fish beyond the northern reef of Thinadhoo.
According to the police, they were notified of the incident after the man was taken to Dr Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital at approximately 1412 hrs.
The police are conducting further investigations into the matter.
