Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday, revealed that a temporary United Kingdom (UK) Visa application centre will open in Male', on August 5 and 6.
Organized by the British Embassy to Maldives, the application service will be provided from 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs during the two days.

The temporary services are provided annually to assist Maldivians in their travels to the United Kingdom. The service especially caters to students travelling to the country for further studies, allowing for easy and convenient applications.
Without a permanent Visa application centre in the country, Maldivians must visit the British High Commission in Colombo, Sri Lanka to obtain Visas into the country.
Maldivians travelling to the UK for tourism purposes are granted a six month on-arrival Visa.
