CAM will now operate under Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology
Communications Authority of Maldives (CAM) has been transferred under the Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology today by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
Initially, CAM was to operate under the newly minted Local Government Ministry. However, a statement issued by the President's Office today detailed that the authority is to operate under the Homeland Security and Technology Ministry now.
With this, a total of eight agencies will be overseen by the ministry:
- Maldives Immigration
- Department of National Registration (DNR)
- National Centre for Information Technology
- National Drug Agency (NDA)
- Department of Juvenile Justice
- National Cyber Security
- Labour Relations Authority
- Communications Authority of Maldives
CAM was previously operated under the Ministry of Environment and Technology, during former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih's administration.
