Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) announced on Monday the fares for the Male’-Hulhule’-Hulhumale bus line, which comes into effect on January 1, 2019.
The bus line between capital Male’, airport island Hulhule’, and the reclaimed suburb of Hulhumale’, was free of charge since the inauguration of Sinamale’ Bridge in September.

According to the notice released by MPL, an electronic fare card ‘TouchLink’ has been designed for bus commuters, which can be purchased for MVR 20 at the Male’ and Hulhumale’ bus stations.
The previous government had tasked the state-owned MPL to run public transportation for the Male'-Hulhule'-Hulhumale' route. MPL has since invested approximately MVR 100 million to purchase buses specially for the Sinamale Bridge line.
