In a recent match between Club Valencia and United Victory (UV), two remarkable young players, 14-year-olds Ethan Ibrahim Zaki and Mohamed Ilan Imran, made history despite their team's 2-1 loss to UV.
Ethan and Ilan have now left their mark in the league's history as the youngest players ever to participate in a league match. Ethan is the youngest player to score a goal in a league match, while Ilan holds the record of being the youngest player to provide an assist in a league match.
In the match held at Galolhu Stadium, Ethan, aged 14 years, achieved this significant feat by surpassing the previous record set by Yoosuf Ayan Amir. Ayan had scored for Club Green Streets at the age of 15 years, ending famed footballer, Ashfaq's 20 year record when he scored at the age of 16 years.
At the age of 14 years, Eelan played a pivotal role by providing the assist for Ethan's goal, which marked a significant moment for both players and the league.
Ethan's goal in the 12th minute placed Valencia in the lead, offering a promising start. However, United Victory managed to turn the tide, equalizing in the 57th minute through a skillful play that saw UV's player retrieve a ball from Shanan and deliver a goal.
Towards the end of the match, with just two minutes left for full time, Ahmed Bassam Mohamad Nayeem scored another goal for UV. Unfortunately, the goal was disallowed due due to an offside call. Despite this, UV secured the victory and temporarily moved ahead of The Green Streets in the league standings with six points from eight matches. The Green Streets currently stand at seventh place with four points and are gearing up for a match against TC Sports Club which holds the fifth place in the league.
