Fuel Supply Maldives (FSM) has refuted allegations circulating on social media that the fuel sold in Gaafu Alifu atoll Maamendhoo and Nilandhoo has been diluted with water.
In a press release, FSM stated that there is no truth to the claims that the fuel sold to the two islands in Gaafu Alifu atoll contained water.
The company emphasized that it sells fuel only after thorough quality assurance checks.
FSM assured that each barge is equipped with testing facilities to ensure the quality of the fuel sold.
The company also urged fuel sellers to arrange for proper oil storage in compliance with regulations and to follow the advice of relevant authorities.
