This is the match that saw the former national team midfielder Shamweel Gasim (Bonda) return to the Galolhu National Stadium. The 42 year old veteran player returned to football as Addu Team Captain.
With a chance he presented, Mohamed Dhanish Ibrahim attempted a goal, but it was intervened by Kurendhoo keeper Sujan Perera. Perera, Sri Lanka's national goal keeper, defended both shots by Addu in the first half.
Addu made several attempts, keeping Perera busy throughout the match, with a single goal making through.
