The government has established a new political position titled "Political Director."
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has been appointing State Ministers and Deputy Ministers to various ministries. The details are available on the President's Office website.
However, beyond that, a new position of Political Director has now been created. On top of this, the post of Senior Political Director has been established with political figures being appointed to these positions.
Despite this, the President's Office has not disclosed the salary information for these two roles. Attempts to seek details from spokesperson Mohamed Shaheeb went unanswered.
During the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen, the position of 'Coordinator' was established as a political role below the Deputy Minister.
During the previous administration, activists were appointed to the role of Executive Director, with a remuneration of MVR 18,000 for Executive Director and MVR 25,000 for Senior Executive Director.
