President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed seventeen new Deputy Ministers. This raises the total number of deputy ministers so far appointed in this administration to sixty one. Forty nine appointments have also been made at the State Minister level. The newly appointed Deputy Ministers are: - Ibrahim Shaaz Habeeb, Foreign Ministry - Amaany Mohamed, Home Ministry - Aminath Nazima, Education Ministry - Aminath Mariya, Education Ministry - Shajaah Firaq, Education Ministry - Ali Nasir, Health Ministry - Nashima Abdul Latheef, Tourism Ministry - Ibrahim Suoodh, Tourism Ministry - Ashhadh Saeed, Tourism Ministry - Hasma Hassan Manik, Social Ministry - Aiminath Namza, Social Ministry - Aiminath Ismail, Social Ministry - Azhar Abdulla Saeed, Housing Ministry - Ibrahim Yasir, Transport Ministry - Aiminath Shashi, Higher Education Ministry - Mariyam Shiuna, Youth Ministry - Ibrahim Fayaz, Local Government Ministry During the transitional period, Office of the President Elect's Spokesperson Mohamed Firuzul stated that the number of political positions will not exceed seven hundred. "We have decided on this amount inclusive of positions at ministries, President's Office, President's Residence and the Vice President's Residence," Firuzul told media personnel last October. As per the last budget submission to parliament, former President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih had 1063 political positions in his administration. Previously, former President Abdulla Yameen had 808 political appointees.
