The governments of Maldives and Russia, on Tuesday, signed the Visa Waiver Agreement, granting a 90 day on-arrival visa for citizens from either nations.
The agreement was signed by top diplomats from both countries, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid and Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The initiative aims to enhance a greater exchange of people to people contact between the two countries.
During the visit, Minister Shahid held discussions with Minister Lavrov on enhancing long-standing relations between Maldives and Russia.
