President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has met 100 councils within three months since assuming office and has deliberated numerous developmental projects of islands and atolls across the country.

During the President’s current trip across Raa atoll, he has met with the island Councils of Alifushi, Vaadhoo, Meedhoo, Kinolhas, Fainu and Maduvvari yesterday.

While the President met with the Council of Ungoofaaru, the ruling island of Raa Atoll, during his visit this morning, he also convened with the Raa Atoll Council alongside the Rasgetheemu Council.

The President marked his 100th council visit with a meeting with the Rasgatheemu Council. The Council President of Rasgatheemu, Mohamed Fazeen, emphasized that the President's early visits to councils highlight the importance he places on the country's decentralization.

"He [the President] said he will convene with all councils in the country early in his term. This is a very remarkable bridge for the president to build relationships with the councils," Fazeen stated after the meeting.

The President is scheduled to visit the Island Councils of Angolhitheemu, Hulhudhuffaaru, Dhuvaaafaru, Maakuratha, Inguraidhoo, Rasmaadhoo and Innamaadhoo today.

President Dr. Muizzu typically invests a substantial amount of time in the meetings he holds with the respective councils.

While the President is scheduled to visit Eydhafushi, the ruling island of Baa Atoll, tonight and meet with their council, meetings with Baa Atoll councils, including Dhonfanu Council and Dharavandhoo Council, have also been planned.

During his trip across the atoll’s in the Maldives, the President has earlier visited Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, Gaafu Dhaalu, Gaafu Alifu, Thaa, Laamu, Haa Alifu, Haa Dhaalu, Shaviyani, and Noonu atolls, engaging with residents and island councils.

While the President is on tour of the islands, the parliamentary elections have been scheduled for April 21.
