Individual in ICU after ingesting 'drug bullets'

A person in police custody for having ingested what is believed to be 'drug bullets' or small bullet-shaped packages consisting narcotics has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit for treatment.

A Police Media Official confirmed that this person, who is currently in critical condition, was arrested by police patrolling the streets of Male' on suspicion of being in possession of drugs.

The person's condition has since deteriorated, with them currently being admitted in IGMH's ICU for treatment.

Police said that the individual's family has been notified and provided details regarding the matter.

They further said that the incident is being investigated.
