The state earned MVR 1.31 billion through Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) within the month of April.
According to the statistics publicised by MIRA, the MVR 1.31 billion earned was a 6.3 percent increase from the expected amount. This is an increase of 12 percent compared to April 2018.
Goods and Services Tax (GST) comprised the largest percentage of revenue earned last month. The MVR 875 million generated as GST was 67 percent of the total earnings. The second highest income was generated via other taxes and fees.
The statistics also show that MVR 861 million was earned in US Dollars, which amounted to USD 55.9 million.
