Dhiraagu names Dheema as new brand ambassador

Local table tennis champion Fathimath Dheema Ali has been named brand ambassador for local telecom company Dhiraagu.

Local telecom company Dhiraagu has named local table tennis champion Fathimath Dheema Ali as its newest brand ambassador yesterday.

Dheema's ambassadorship was awarded by the company's CEO and MD Ismail Rasheed during a special ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony Director, Brand and Marketing Communications Mohamed Mirshan Hassan stated that "it is an honour to have Dheema onboard as the newest Brand Ambassador of Dhiraagu. She is not only a pride to the nation, Dheema is a rising star who is an inspiration to a lot of young people in our community."

Dheema also spoke at the event and said "“it is an honour that my first ambassadorship is with a local company, Dhiraagu the leading digital service provider in the Maldives. I truly appreciate the offer and for all the support and encouragement from the Dhiraagu family. I look forward to an exciting journey ahead, representing the Maldives on both national and international platforms."

Dheema is currently preparing for the upcoming Summer Olympics to be held in Paris, France. She is the first Maldivian athlete to secure a spot at the games by winning a qualifier and will also be the first athlete to represent Maldives in table tennis at the Olympics.

Dhiraagu's brand ambassadorship programme has been running for around 10 years. Other brand ambassadors include late musician Ahmed Nashid (Zero Degree), Safa Ibrahim Areef, Abdul Ghafoor Ali (Gabbe), and runner Hassan Saaid as well as Zoona Naseem.
