The government of Maldives on Sunday strongly condemned the series of drone attacks against Saudi Arabia’s Aramco oil facilities in Abqaiq and Hijra Khurais.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attacks on critical infrastructure will lead to the destabilisation of Saudi Arabia’s security and stability, and amplify tensions in the region.
The government concluded that the acts of terrorism will thwart the international community in finding peaceful solutions to conflicts in the region.
Affirming its solidarity with Saudi Arabia, Maldives iterated its commitment in the fight against terrorism.
As per Saudi Arabia's Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, the drone strikes disrupted half of the companies' crude oil output.
The recent attack on the world's largest oil processing facilities, Aramco's Abqaiq refinery and Hijra Khurais, was claimed by Houthi rebels.
