Local apparel brand 'Toddy', on Saturday, opened its second outlet on The Marina at Crossroads, the integrated resort destination in Kaafu Atoll.

The outlet's opening was complemented by musical performances from famed musicians Nishfa Nashid, Ibrahim Fayaz, Andhala Haleem (Anya), Mohamed Shiuz and Symbolic Records.

Introducing a special range of products including a new towel line and a snapback, Spokesperson Ahmed Sufiyan noted that its new products, although initially available at the Crossroads outlet, will become available at its Male' outlet starting Sunday.

Focusing on sustainable and environmentally friendly products, Toddy highlighted the use of its newly designed pouch bag packaging, aimed to be "functional" and reused by consumers in everyday use.

Priding itself as a business that refuses to differentiate Maldivians and foreigners, Toddy maintains a strict pricing across its two outlets.

Whilst noting the challenges in its decision to venture into the tourism market and establish itself both locally and globally, Toddy's co-founder and Managing Director Ahmed Riyaz said that "creating an apparel brand has not been easy", adding that it has continued to learn throughout the decade since the brand's inception in 2009.

Speaking on the future of Toddy, co-founder and graphics designer Mohamed Fayaz announced the decision to launch its online shop in late 2019 and expand its product line with additional designs, hinting at "a few surprises" on the way.

Toddy boasts a wide range of products including tank tops, t-shirts, tunics necklaces, snapbacks, coconut oil, and more.
